Hello, New Mexico!
My name is Gene Pettit, and I am honored to announce my candidacy for Governor of this great state. I am not a politician, I am a husband, father, grandfather, business owner, pastor, veteran, and a proud New Mexican who cares deeply about the future of our state.

For too long, we have watched policies and laws drift away from the values that built our families and communities. We’ve lost sight of the moral foundation that made New Mexico strong. It’s time for a change, a new direction, a true north path that brings us back to the heart and soul of who we are.

I am running for Governor as an independent conservative because I believe in people over politics, integrity over influence, and freedom over government overreach.

Business Owner: For over 18 years, my wife and I have owned and operated a successful business. I know what it takes to deal with contracts, finances, regulations, and, most importantly, to earn people’s trust. When a customer hands you the keys to their home or business, that trust is priceless, and as Governor, I intend to earn that same trust from the people of New Mexico.

Family and Faith: My wife and I have been married for 19 years. We have a son, a daughter, and two beautiful grandchildren. I serve as a pastor and have been in ministry for over 18 years, counseling families, helping those in need, and guiding people through life’s challenges.

Community Service: I’ve worked with the Las Cruces Gospel Mission to serve those who have fallen on hard times and need hope. For over 20 years, I’ve also served as a high school and college referee, working closely with our youth, families, and communities.

Military Service: Like many proud Americans, I served in our Armed Forces to protect family, freedom, and our nation’s moral foundation. I worked on military fielding teams, managing over 300 personnel and ensuring operational readiness of critical equipment, skills that taught me accountability and leadership.

Civic Leadership: I’ve served on the Las Cruces City Transit Board and the Farmers & Crafts Market Board, working to support small businesses, manage resources, and strengthen local economies.
